Lil Caboose Ice Cream – Delicious Artisan Soft Serve & Unique Flavors in South Yarmouth, MA

We found this place through a Google search. There are 2 parking lots, one on either side, so there is plenty of parking. The ice cream was delicious and they even do dipped cones. Plenty of seating and the staff are excellent. There is a cute playground on one side for the kids. Lots of flavors are available and the portions are generous. But we couldn't go into the caboose.

Costa is a young, energetic business professional who puts out a great product and delivers great customer service. The ice cream is the best around and they serve up generous portions. Matt (I think his name is) made a triple scoop ice cream cone that looked like a work of art, huge scoops, perfectly rounded and placed on top of one another. Definitely will return the next time I'm the area.

A must try! Recently renovated, it’s very inviting and has a great outdoor seating area. The new owner is very friendly and the ice cream is delicious. Our soft serve cones were HUGE( not pictured ), and the orange freeze tasted like a cremesicle, very good. My daughter had the cake batter ice cream and said it’s one of the best she’s had.

We stopped here the other day for a quick ice cream sundae and it was fantastic. The staff was great and attentive and there wasn’t a line so we were able to get right up to the window. They didn’t rush us and our server talked up a great conversation with us, which was great. There is seating available outside if you want to hang out, or you can sit in your car as they have plenty of parking. This place is right on Route 28 which is very convenient and easy to get in and out of. They also have merchandise for sale-score!! Definitely stop in!

First time going and it was really good. Super creamy and smooth soft serve ice cream. I got the cherry dip on vanilla soft serve.

So my partner and went to two other ice places both supposed to be open but when we got to them they were closed. Lil’ Caboose was open and we never tired it. The sundae was perfect and they had tons of options. Coffee Oreo is the best. Service was good and friendly. Really enjoyed this and will be added to our cape trip ice cream rotation.

This family-owned gem is just around the corner from us, and it’s quickly become my son’s absolute favorite spot! As someone with a dietary restriction, I truly appreciate that they offer vegan, gluten‑free, and no‑sugar‑added flavors—and they genuinely taste great. I feel included in all the fun! The staff consistently amaze me with their friendliness, patience, and willingness to accommodate—often offering samples or little extras just to ensure you find the perfect scoop. If you’re visiting South Yarmouth this should be on your bucket list of places to visit.

Staff were friendly and ice cream was great! Definitely suggest getting a cup on the side, ours melted a lot even though it wasn’t super hot/humid, not sure what that is about! Still delicious though!!
